What is Stage One?

First stage retreat forms the head and the heart through dynamic talks, healing services, and shared identity.

It is a three-day spiritual bootcamp to prepare you to live in a society that is working against you. You receive a chastity ring upon completion as a symbol and reminder and the pledge which is made at the closing Mass.

Why Should I Go?

Chastity is at the heart of this retreat — not as a list of rules, but as a way of living whole, honest, and free.

Through the lens of Theology of the Body, we explore how receiving God’s love restores our identity and leads to authentic freedom.

This retreat invites you to live without double lives, fear, or shame, and to choose truth, love, and dignity.

How do I Register?

Registration is simple. Just fill out the registration form here and submit your payment by credit card. Once your registration is complete, you’ll receive an email with important details, directions, and a packing list.

When does the Retreat start and end?

Check-in opens Friday at 5:00 PM.
The retreat begins Friday at 7:00 PM and concludes Sunday at approximately 1:00 PM.

Do I need to arrange my own transportation?

Yes. All retreatants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the retreat location.

There will be no parking available. However, you can park on the public streets. We highly recommend getting to the retreat house by public transportation or carpooling if you are local to the area. 

Where will we be staying?

The Retreat will be at the St. Nicholas Retreat Center. The address is 115 Ferry Street, Jersey City, NJ 07307.

Retreatants will stay in shared dorm-style housing.
Each participant will share a room with roommates during the weekend.

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

You will be able to indicate any food allergies or dietary needs on the registration form.
We will communicate this information to the retreat center. However, we recommend bringing any specific foods you may need in case accommodations are limited.

What should I bring?

Here are a few things you will need to pack for the retreat:

  • Pillow

  • Sleeping bag

  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.)

  • Towel

  • Comfortable clothing (including a sweatshirt for the evening)

  • Please bring blankets or extra layers of clothing as nights can be cold

  • Bible, rosary, and notebook for notes!

Can I come even if I’m nervous or unsure?

Yes. Many retreatants come feeling unsure or not knowing what to expect. Stage One is designed to be welcoming, pressure-free, and rooted in encounter, community, and God’s love.
